Markem-Imaje, part of Dover Corporation and a global provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions and industrial marking and coding systems, today announced plans to open a new research, development, and engineering office in Salem, New Hampshire, by the end of 2025. The new facility will create engineering jobs in the region once fully operational.
The Salem office, conveniently located just off Interstate 93 (I-93), minutes from the Massachusetts border, will house electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams dedicated to the company’s high-performance Large Character Piezo Inkjet, Thermal Inkjet, and Valvejet printer product lines. These printers, widely used across logistics, warehousing, and consumer-packaged goods sectors, employ drop-on-demand inkjet technology to apply high-resolution marking and coding on diverse substrates, including corrugated cardboard, cartons, shrink film, and rigid containers.
The new R&D office marks another significant investment by Markem-Imaje in New Hampshire, complementing the recent announcement of the expansion of sustainable wax-based Touch Dry® ink production capacity at its EcoVadis Platinum Sustainability-rated facility in Keene. This dual investment underscores the company’s commitment to both global innovation and regional economic growth.
